Beautiful Bonita was picked up by SCAC on the evening of April 10. A good samaritan reached out to ask for medical assistance for a friendly neighborhood stray kitty who was in labor and not progressing normally. SCAC recognized that Bonita needed emergency medical assistance, so she was transported to the Animal Emergency Clinic in Springfield, and Meow Mobile was contacted to request financial assistance. Bonita was rushed into an emergency c-section, but sadly, her babies were already deceased. Bonita stayed at AEC overnight to receive treatment for dehydration, anemia, and infection. Meow Mobile was pleased to be able to cover Bonita's medical expenses while she was at AEC. The bill came to $2,912.60, but saving this sweet kitty's life was worth every penny.

Bonita is around 5 years old. This probably was not her first pregnancy but thank goodness we know it will be her last. We wanted to share Bonita's story with you because it is a great example of how Meow Mobile and Sangamon County Animal Control & Adoption Center work together to save feline lives in our community. Your generous donations allow us to continue this important work.
